Night Deck — how it works
A bedtime brain quiz. Tap through as many cards as you feel like. Read the question out loud, let Benjamin answer, tap reveal answer, then mark it.
How to mark cards
- ✓ got it — He answered correctly. The card banks and won't reappear for a while.
- ✗ missed — He got it wrong. The card comes back into rotation soon so he can re-learn it.
- 🗑 retire — He's mastered it; never show it again. (Reversible via "reset progress" on the setup screen.)
Difficulty
Each card is tagged easy, medium, or stretch. On the setup screen, pick a difficulty filter — all mixes everything together, or lock to just one tier.
How the queue works
- Start of session: build a queue of unseen + previously-missed cards, shuffled together.
- Cards marked right get a cool-down — they sit out for ~30 other cards before coming back for review.
- Cards marked retired never come back unless you reset progress.
- If you drain the queue mid-session, it auto-refills from the eligible pool.
Progress
Marks are saved to localStorage on this browser. Nothing is sent anywhere. Clearing your browser data (or hitting "Reset progress" on the setup screen) wipes it all.
Categories
Every card is tagged with one of: math, science, language, history & geography, or arts. The corpus is roughly balanced across all five. (Category filtering isn't in v1.0's UI yet, but the framework's in place.)
